Need help working College Level Math problems...?

I would just type out the questions, but diagrams are included in some of the questions. If this doesn't work:

ACCUPLACER Sample Questions for Students (Revised December 2007) (.pdf/241k)

Requires Adobe Reader (latest version recommended).

CL Math is toward the bottom. I'm sorry for all the trouble.

The answer key is at the very bottom, but it doesn't help if you don't know how to work the problems. I hate to ask it, but I don't know how to work some of these, and I need somebody to show me. I tried and got different answers. I've been studying for a week to take my placement test at my local community college, and I go to take it this afternoon. Just trying to get in all the studying I can. CLM is all I need help on.

I got help on 1,2,3,4,and 7, so that leaves 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 that I need help on. Thank you!|||Your links didn't work, so I had to go searching on my own. I hope I got the right sample questions (check out my link below).

----------

5. A

Line contains points (0,0) and (1,2)

slope = (0-2)/(0-1) = -2/-1 = 2

y-intercept = 0

y = 2x

Another method to use is simply check if points (0,0) and (1,2) fit into each of the given equations. Point (0,0) obviously doesn't fit into equations (C), (D), (E) and point (1,2) doesn't fit into equation (B)

----------

6. E

Let x be number of one-bedroom apts (rent = $360)

Let y be number of two-bedroom apts (rent = $450)

Total number of apartments is 12

x + y = 12

x = 12 - y

Total rental is $4950

360x + 450y = 4950

360(12-y) + 450y = 4950

4320 - 360y + 450y = 4950

90y = 630

y = 7

----------

8. B

log₁₀(x) = 3

x = 10³

x = 1000

----------

9. A

f(x) = 2x+1; g(x) = (x-1)/2

f(g(x)) = 2(g(x)) + 1

f(g(x)) = 2(x-1)/2 + 1

f(g(x)) = (x-1) + 1

f(g(x)) = x

----------

10. D

If θ is an acute angle (i.e. θ %26lt; 90), then it is in quadrant I

Therefore cos(θ) %26gt; 0

cos²(θ) = 1 - sin²(θ) = 1 - 1/4 = 3/4

cos(θ) = √(3/4) = √3 / 2

----------|||No.|||thku! =)|||your links are not working

type a questions|||5 - (1,2) =%26gt; y= 2x

6 -

4950 = 360X + 450 Y (where x = # 1bedroom, y = #2 bedroom)

also 12 = X + Y (12 units total)

X = 12 - Y

4950 = 360 (12- Y) + 450 Y

4950 = 4320 - 360 Y + 450 Y

4950 = 4320 + 90 Y

4950 - 4320 = 90 Y

Y = 7

7 - 2-bedroom apartments (if you wanted to know # 1 bedroom solve for X + Y = 12)

8. Log10 X = 3, add 3 zeros, 3000

9. F(x) = 2X + 1, G(x) = (X - 1)/2, F(G(x)) = in place of X in g(x) place value of F(x), F(G(x)) = (2X + 1 - 1)/2 = 2X/2 = X

10. O is acute angle, sin O = 1/2, then cosine is sqrt3/2, this is just something to remember, no calculation
