I am doing a renactment for the Civil War. What is a good southern belle name?

For battle ball|||Why not look in a few history books, diaries and memoirs to capture some reality. White daughters of prosperous families were overwhelmingly named Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Martha, and Susan.


Angelina Jolene, Suellen, Scarlett, Elly Mae, and Magnolia Lee are the creations of 20th century Yankee authors.


ps - if you're on your period, no worries. Just take flannel strips and fold them into pads, wear them under your dainties, and rinse them out in the evening. It'll be another nice reminder of what a golden age that was before 1860.|||Chucky

this was my grandmother's name. She lived in Eufaula Alabama in which a pilgrimage of the antebellum homes is still held every spring.
