Should I be able able to do splits? I can do my right split. I can do a backbend but it isnt the best. I can only do it well sometimes. What should I eat and what shouldnt I eat? Any reagular possitions I should work on? Thanks, clm! (:|||Well if you're just starting, this is what I did:
I still am not all the way in my splits. Don't sweat it, keep working on it though. Unless you want to be a gymnast the backbend isn't important, but it is nice while doing back work outs to have a flexible back. Keep it up! I cut chips and candy and soda out of my diet, but every once in awhile I have a handful/sip, what you eat isn't really important as long as you get all the vitamins, calcium, protein, potassium, and iron you need to stay healthy you will be fine. Work out 3-5 times a week, and most importantly have fun. Dance isn't about who's more flexible... it's about loving what you do. If you enjoy yourself, it will shine through and you will look like the most wonderful dancer in the world. Smile! Best of Luck, Claire!|||You do not 'have' to do splits. You will gradually get better at them, though.
You do not have to do a back-bend for Ballet.
You should eat lots of fruits, veggies, whole grain, and lean proteins (if you are not a vegetarian like me.) You should watch your portion sizes of chips, cookies, junk food, etc.
Happy Dancing!|||They teach you how to do splits, Yeah I don't do 'great' back bends either. Ask your teacher!
