Just wondering, lol.|||Well, there's a few cultural references to different versions of a princess, but using the terms are derogatory. Essentially, a Southern belle is a gift unto her own. If there were a term it would start with Yankee, as that was the era that term started being used.
edit: Ayverie is right, it is a specific profile of the type of woman, a behavior and way of being that makes a belle - they were quite distinct and there was no equivalent to them at the time.|||I don't think so.
